Business Maintenance

All South Carolina Corporations and LLCs Must File: 

  • Articles of Incorporation
    South Carolina corporations and LLCs are formed by filing the Articles of Incorporation or Articles of Organization with the South Carolina Secretary of State. It costs $110 to form a South Carolina corporation or South Carolina LLC.
  • Initial Report
    SC corporations must include an initial annual report with the Articles of Incorporation. There is an additional $25 initial report fee due at the time of incorporation.
  • Annual Report
    South Carolina corporations and LLC’s do not file annual reports with the Secretary of State. South Carolina corporations do need to make annual tax filings with the Department of Revenue.

Corporation Income Tax
The corporate income tax rate in South Carolina is 5%. 

South Carolina Business License

The State of South Carolina does not require a state business license. However, many South Carolina businesses will need an occupational license from the Department of Labor or a local license from the city or county.
