Maryland limited liability company
A limited liability company provides a limited liability protection to any of the individuals that are members of the LLC - hence the name Limited Liability Company. Individuals that serve as officers have their personal assets protected under the laws of Maryland. With increasing risk and worry of an unwanted lawsuit, many have opted to file a LLC just for this reason.
Forming a LLC
The Maryland LLC is setup by filing articles with the Secretary of State. Once submitted the paperwork is reviewed by an examiner and typically approved. A company gains many advantages by filing a business as an LLC. Some of the more common advantages are tax advantages, liability protection, and a simplier operating structure compared to a corporation.
